When Rhode Island was
first settled in the 17th
century, many of the
settlers adopted their
British architectural
ideas with the material
that was available. The
result of this is that the
colonists built "stone
enders", which were
buildings with massive
stone chimneys
surrounded by a wood
structure.
Self-striping yarn is a
